Forget Me Not – An Autograph Book Exhibition

How many people still keep their Primary or Secondary School autograph book ? I still have mine hahaha, well kept and hidden in the cupboard. Flipping through I have many fond memories and really miss those school days. The Little Dröm Store is collaborating Forget Me Not – An Autograph Book Exhibition with local designer Joanne Lim. I've purposely made my way down yesterday to see some friends' autograph books and a special vintage one from 1956. Besides exhibition, there are also cards, notebooks, totes as well as the framed hand-screened art prints with signatures are available for sale. I am so tempted to get one of the art print, which one is your favourite ?

Nom Nom .... Truffs

A foodie friend once told me Truffs is cold even though if is hot outside in the afternoon, I asked was it that the air-conditioned made her feel cold or was it due to the fact that she was the only customer in the cafe? I agree with her that I felt cool down quite soon upon entering Truffs on a warm afternoon and yes, I was the only dine-in customer after the lunch hour period. I was happy to have the whole place to myself while watching the staffs getting busy and office crowds in and out having take-aways.

I do not have the chance to indulge in their chocolate cakes as strongly recommended by the staffs but I tasted the 55% équateur dark chocolate and 70% Honduras Dark Chocolate handmade truffles and preferred the latter which was simply well balanced with the intense bittersweet taste. There are choices from chocolate truffles, signature chocolate cake or chocolate tart to choose from. Truffs is one good place in town to get away from the crowds with a cup of hot chocolate.

PS: Check it out the furniture and art pieces that are from The Workshop Gallery.

I've been following Jolene @jolenekcw for a short while and she posted about her love for coffee, baking, photography, food & books on IG. Although she is also from Singapore but when I looked at her photos I always felt that it was so dreamy and not in Singapore at all.

If you like it as much as I do here's her blog for more.

Nom Nom .... Symmetry

To many people I guess Symmetry need no introduction, cafe by day and restaurant bar by night in the quiet Kampong Glam area. I heard that it is always quite packed during weekend brunch but when I had the whole place to myself on a weekday afternoon, I liked it here. Even before I entered, I was attracted by the The Nightmare Before Christmas dolls sitting outside the wall. The brick wall, fittings & decor, good food and attentive service added up to my whole dining experience. I've read on timeout singapore about Symmetry "invested a cool $30,000 in a Slayer, one of the world’s most coveted espresso machines – definitely try a cuppa".

Colors Monday 【Channel 67】

I'm quite sure after the long weekend holiday, working today must be a torture for you. I chanced upon this project Channel Rokunana (67 in japanese) by three Japanese photographers showing their love for the Pentax 6×7.  Kiyoshimachine created the Pentax 67 helmets to be worn for photoshoot and every shot captured from his family members, newly married couple to hair designer are so entertaining and fun. For more whimiscal shots, you can check out at his website or flickr.
