Nom Nom .... Windowsill Pies In The Wood

They are like nomads moving from Pandan Valley and I've seen them stocked up in Manicurious, Penny University as well as in Artistry. Finally they have settled down in Jalan Besar, fantastic pies sure deserved a good home. What Windowsill Pies attracted me was that there are so many selections and I am sure there are something for everyone. I have tried quite a few selections, some too sour and some too sweet for my liking but what I really looking forward is their savoury items. I'm loving the woody interior, the bright yellow retro fridge, the no smoking little bear signage and the green stripes uniform.

Do drop by for fortnight if you are keen to try their dinner menu.

Hello, Shibuya Tokyo

Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya Hello Shibuya

February is packed with happenings and this is one of them - Hello, Shibuya Tokyo is an event showcasing Japanese and local talents in fashion, art, music and youth culture. Besides a small range of fashion labels imported from Japan, the most interesting part is the collaborations between Japanese designers x Singapore retailers such as Asylum x JUN OKAMOTO, BooksActually x THEATRE PRODUCTS.

Unfortunately one of the must buy item - Hello Kitty x Nissin Chilli Crab flavour Cup of the packaging designed by Chris Lee of Asylum was out of stock. I guess the Vlli Vlli x Hello Kitty special nail wrap must be selling well too, I bought a pack but not the Hello Kitty one (Sorry I am not really a Hello Kitty fan).

Somehow I felt that more brands should come into the events and price tags that are affordable for more people would be great. Well the event have ended and check out here if you would like to see more of the photos.

Nom Nom .... Artistry

Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry Artistry

Sometimes surprises do happened when I wandered in the little streets here in the little red dot. Tucked away in Kampong Glam area I found Artistry, a cafe as well as an art gallery. Here you can find art showcase and performances from local talent, coffee brew using roasted bean from Liberty Coffee and Windowsill pies that used to be selling in Pandan Valley. This wasn't my first time here but because I didn't bring along my camera the last time, I reminded myself that I should come back again.

All thanks to a new friend, Cheryl for willing to meet me here so I have the chance to come back for a second round. The center long table and stools made from recycled planks, that old metal chair from an clan association and the colorful flowers sure added on many likes to my liking.

Currently there is an ongoing exhibition "Within The Walls" by Delphine Beguinot-Dollet from 28 March to 17 April.  While Artistry transformed into liquid lab on weekend and you can enjoy the cocktail night with live music, but remember to check their facebook for updates before heading down.

Oops Ageing In Style

Have you ever image how you would look like when are 50, 60, 70 or even 80 years old? I never have given thoughts until I come across Ari Cohen blog that roam the streets of New York looking for the most stylish and creative older folks. I want to grow old like these grannies though with grey hair and wrinkles but they are definitely wiser and in style. Recently, Coach have collaborated with Ari to produce visual story of top fashion blogs pairing with chic ladies who prove age is just a number when it comes to great style.

Do check out Ari's blog for more inspiration posts.

Sew Searching II

The opening night was packed with people and I was so glad that I did make it to attend the event with Juwind, Waee Waee and friends at Math Paper Press. I can totally imagine the amount of time and effort to design and sew these wonderful pieces and guess I should have no such patient or potential in sewing. Anyway please take your time, appreciate and enjoy and the handmade pieces by Sandy of Cookie Cutter and the 7 collaborators.
