The Gift Of Time

Finally the whole family managed to find time to visit The Gift Of Time exhibition by Hermes at the Tanjong Pagar Railyway Station before it ends on the 12th August. There were guided tour explaining the story with installation as we walk along in a collection of seven mysterious rooms.

We being our journey at The Origin Of Time – Never forget : The first role of Light is to make the Dark more beautiful, and not to measure the days.

 

Next move on to a room with many quotes written in English, Chinese and French, wow I loved them all. The Gift of Time pouches were given to keep our watches so that we could take time to wander and ponder at Free Time.

Time Balance – Night after Night, the top span and danced on the table to the rhythm of a beating heart, tracing its circle with the precision, patience and pace of the second hand on a clock face.

 

Stroke Of Time where you can see the Hermes bag aged with time.

This is kinda interesting where the cat made of different colours and textures preying on the bird in the cage.

 

Entering a dark room, take a seat and Imaginary Time –Who ? When ? How ? Where ? STOP. Escape into the imaginary, for a moment.

 

 

 

 

 

The pop up of The U Cafe by The Plain served good coffee and sandwiches, out of the menu MiPi is my favourite - combination of Milo and Kopi.

 

 

 

 

Lots of old-school toys, sweets and biscuits selling by Munch Munch. There were too plenty to see and buy.

Founded by Bakerzin Chef Daniel Tay's father, Seng Choong Confectionery serves the best spicy chicken curry puff.  The bakery used to open at a shophouse in Eunos in 1965 and moved to Marine Parade in 1975. A pity it was closed in 1996. This pop up is a paean to both his father's lifework and the art of traditional Chinese soupy desserts.

 

We had a great time at the events, walking through the exhibition and eating through the breaks. Is truely a joy to pause and look through the installations in every room. Sometimes a little pause is all you need to enjoy the little wonder around you :)
