The former Catholic High School was converted as the extension of SAM at 8Q have always been my favourite hangout since it was the only exhibition in Singapore dedicated to showcase art suitable for children. See for yourself the installations and you'll ♥ them as well.

Singapore Night Festival 2012

Ping Pong Go-Round by Lee Wen was created for players to indulge Ping Pong with many players as possible regardless of gender and age on a round table.

Dancing Solar Flowers by Alexandre Dang was first displayed at SAM last year to introduce environmental issues to children. The solar powers provides energy to the rocking paper flowers.

Echoes-Infinity-The Forest by Shinji Ohmaki was displayed on the final day when I entered. I was walking over the garden of flowers painstakingly created with specially selected pigment materials and since this was the last day, the patterns was wearing away as a reminder of the transient nature of life.

Everyday Wonders by Loh Sau Kuen hopes to widen perspectives and cultivate a meaningful appreciation of art through Everyday Wonders. The displayed  are creative patterns and designs created using simple objects such as paper clips, clothes pegs, disposable spoons and knifes.

The Art Of Imagination by Justin Lee exploring popular local images, drawings and texts via cardboard boxes and we can create our own designs and words to the mash-up or to rearrange the boxes to piece together a creative message or image based on our imagination.

5QU1D by Ryf displayed a hybrid squid-like creature embedded with blinking lights and the lights actually changes as more people approaching it.

"A work that parodies how we look at aquatic creatures in aquariums, Ryf hopes to show a different perspective through the 'eyes' of 5QU1D."

Dress Me Up by Justin Lee was created to encourage children to express themselves freely and creatively. In this playroom, we played with the life-sized dolls and decorated a gigantic cake.

Reactive Wall by Mojoko and Shang Liang showcases over 200 popular characters and icons by making sounds through a microphone and as more icons pop up, they covered the wall.

Grow A Garden In the Dark by Tay Bee Aye is one of our favourite with many Origami flowers glowing in the dark room in the hope that visitors can cultivate a love for our environment.

Kakhe by Speak Cryptic. The mural along the walls of the SAM stairs offers a peek into the artist's quest to learn about his culture and chronicles his life growing as a Singaporean Baweanese.
