Nom Nom .... Necessary Provisions

I didn't make it when Henry Congressional was around so when they finally opened Homebodies in Boat Quay and now Necessary Provisions in Eng Kong Terrance, I make it a point to go as soon as I knew. I thought there is no need to rush down but obviously mouth of word spread fast for good places :D

I had a great afternoon there eating the Rosemary Chicken with Watercress and Parmigiano Sandwich, their signature pandan chiffon cake and dark chocolate cookie. I'm totally in loveeeeeee with my Iced Espresso In Milk, served in a cup was two ice cubes of espresso coffee and a cold bottle of milk where I can pour the amount I like into the iced espresso cubes. The favour changes as the iced coffee cubes melted and addition of more or less milk. I want to come back soon for the after 6 menu before the crowd starts.

Another thumbs up gem hidden in the quiet private estate, the West seems to be getting more exciting :D

Nom Nom .... The French Ladle

If not for my visit to Windowsill Pies, I wouldn't find The French Ladle housed in a residential estate, Pandan Valley Condominium. The 28 seater cosy family bistro was almost full when we stepped in at the opening hour on weekend. The commendable part was that the folks here served affordable French food with no GST and service charge. I totally fell in love with the white brick counter hanging with lot of magazines (reminded me of PS cafe).

From soup of the day to appetizer, we are happy to say that though they are not the best and nothing much to rave about but at least they are decent. I can't say so for our main since I totally lose my appetite when I saw the blood oozing when I cut it (I will not post that photo incase you lose your appetite too). Anyway they recooked whatever we had eaten and re-served back to us when I feedback about the uncooked dish. Whatever !! I can accept of the food is not nice or small portion but can zero tolerance for uncooked meat with blood oozing. This had to be my first and last time I be going back. By the way they have many reviews about their food so is up to you to try for yourself.

Nom Nom .... Carpenter And Cook

I hate to share this but Carpenter And Cook is really, really, really awesome. Just by looking at the photos I'm already starting to miss this place again. Pretty well hidden gem in the quiet estate of Lorong Kilat with nothing much nearby, I'm real surprised with the crowds upon entering.

 

A vintage house store cum a bakery cafe selling furniture and home decor that are carefully curated and in house baked goodies by chef graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in London. The tastes of the food and drinks are as good as they looked :P

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I must be lucky to grab a last piece of the absolutely yummy Passionfruit Meringue Tart ( is the must have! ).

 

Light and fluffy cheese quiche to start the day.

 

 

 

This is the place to revisit with the love you can feel the people here have put into the place and food. I've packed lemon drizzle, pear almond loaf and banana seeded loaf to continue the little happiness.
