Project Bly .... Malacca

I been longing for a holiday maybe not too far and no need too long a break. Somehow shopping becomes easier without having to leave the house. I have follow Project Bly for a while and their latest destination to Malacca really well documented what this charming place have to offer.

After looking at the stunning photos, it is hard to resist not making a trip down after all my last trip was 3 years back. I do hope I can get a film camera and do some documenting soon.

Red Handicrafts 剪纸人家a must go place for souvenirs if you are like Chinese paper cutting items and traditional Chinese gifts. Talented and creative owner surprised me with new creation every time I visited.

I have walked past this little shop many times but it was not open. Finally it was opened one afternoon, hours before I depart for home. Heart Handy 夏天散步 a litte zakka shop opened in Melaka, what a rare find. Shop owner spent many efforts setting up from a run-down place to a nice little place.

I am sure this is now a hidden place, many would have known and tried. This quaint cafe is a must visit place for me everytime I am in this tiny town. A place that I always rested and do not want to move on.

On a hot day, ice desserts is a must. Min Chong Hygienic Ice Cafe 民众冰室 around for almost 80 years. Decors and menu on the table never change since open in the 1920s.

Traditional teochew porridge with many choice of dishes.

Auntie saw me with the camera, gladly invited me into the kitchen to take photo of the sweet potato porridge.

My simple yet delicious lunch.

Mods Cafe opened for around 7 months, the main attraction is the Volkswagen camper van in the shop. I didn't try any of the food since the whole day have been eating and drinking. The boss wasn't very friendly and seems to be he is very grumpy.

This is all I can managed to squeeze.

It was really good to see new and better places opening in this little town but somehow I feel that it is getting more commericalized. I do not like the crowd.

I was tired and sweating non-stop but happy with the photos taken under the scorching hot sun. The only way I could beat the heat is to drink lots and lots of cold drinks and hide in shade whenever possible, therefore I almost visited all cafes in a day :)

Exploring new places in melaka is such a joy especially under the scorching sun. Though is not the first time to visit voyager travellers cafe, I am always happy to spend all the whole day here.
