Do you still remember my visit to Carpenter And Cook ? Are you a fan of them? YESssss I am one of them but staying in the northern part of Singapore, travelling to Upper Bukit Timah is the least I enjoy even though I know that there are tasty treats waiting for me. The good news in 2014 is that there is a new outlet Carpenter and Cook Jr is now open in Thomson area but the bad news is that there are no seating here, catering only for takeaway due to the limited parking space. The nearest carpark would be Thomson Plaza that is short walking distance to the cosy shop. The usual yummy pastries, biscuits and coffee crafted from beans by local roastery "Liberty" are all available in the cosy place and how I wish there are some sitting space now !!!

Another well hidden surprise in the Sembawang Hills estate but since this is an Aug 2012 backlog post here's a little update, the Oddyssey folks have moved to a bigger space and no longer operates in Sembawang Hills.
Oddyssey is a place full of old charms, I was first attracted to them via their photos in the facebook. Many times I have purchased my items just looking through the the collections launched on facebook and the folks have categorised the items with cute names such as "I Bag Your Pardon", "My Cup Runneth Over", "Oddject of Desire", "Musical chair 排排坐"etc
Here you can find great conversation vintage pieces from restored cupboards to refurbished chairs, coffee tables and many other knickknacks. I have to start making plans to visit the new store soon.

Franchise from Australia was this well hidden Yahava KoffeeWorks pronounced as "Juh-ha-va" in the area of Thomson Hill. Similar to many recently opened coffee places, main core business for Yahava KoffeeWorks seems as roaster and retailing / wholesale coffee beans rather just a cafe.
They conduct free coffee tasting sessions in house daily. Simple and no frill coffee place, great to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed our coffee in the huge space not feeling cramped or noisy even though it was full house.

Another rest and relax day, OMG since when my life pace have become hectic. I have to confess if I will to add up the hectic days, out of 365 days there should only be 30 days ... not even 10%. Anyway, have been sometimes since we went back to this indie cafe.
I liked the new decor, neater and less clutter with a home feel.
