Nom Nom .... Sinpopo Brand

Strongly recommended by some friends saying that I would surely love this place. Sinpopo Brand (新泡泡甜品小吃) was only a few days old then. After back from my Bangkok trip, I purposely made my trip down to the east area and revisit some other places as well, considering the amount of time needed to travel down from the north. What greeted us was the huge retro signboard of Sinpopo Brand, vintage television with some old biscuit tins and the brightly red painted metal door grille. Previously this shop was Everything With Fries and knowing now that Sinpopo serves mainly desserts, I knew I would like this shop more :D

With only Sinpopo Nasi Lemak, some roti (breads) and small bites as the main dishes, the majority of the menu are desserts and drinks. We decided to skip the main and ordered Sng Muay Pop, D24 Durian Pengat, Gula Melaka Soft Jelly and Attap Chee Ice Cream (with additional of attap chee from the boss hahahahaha, it does make a difference to this dessert). Sng Muay Pop was good on a humid day, Gula Melaka Soft Jelly and Attap Chee Ice Cream were alright but the signature Durian Pengat was too watery and sweet for my liking. I'm coming back soon to try the main dishes and hopefully by then the desserts would have improve.

The 'magic' here in Strangers' Reunion is different from Papa Palheta. Opened by Ryan Kieran Tan, Singapore National Barista Champion 2011 and 2012 in a remote area along Kampong Bahru Road, this place surely getting more crowded. I ♥ the old furnitures and the usage of flowers and recycle goods, very zakka. I'm sure that there are many good reviews about the coffee and food here so no more words needed. Be sure to try out 'Magic' and Red Velvet Cupcake when you drop by.

Nom Nom .... Skinny Pizza

Skinny Pizza

Finally this is a date with Jestine after fixing our busy schedule. I'm not alone anymore, sometimes I wonder if I've already gotten used to be alone. Alone wandering isn't a bad idea but sometimes good times with old friend is such a joy especially catching up with recent gossips. I was always attracted by Skinny Pizza when I past by and this time we decided to give it a try.

We ordered The English Breakfast and my mouth is overwhelmed by the deliciousness, super thin crust and the toppings are basically those I've ate during brunch but now are all on a pizza. I had to admit just one pizza is not enough therefore we ended ordering a portion of Mushroom Risotto which we think should have stick to ordering pizza instead. Skinny Pizza's signature is Squid Ink pizza and I am looking forward to my next visit. Try for yourself if you are a pizza lover that loves crispy think crust !

We happened to chance upon Societe Canteen a Melbourne-style cafe after our walk in the Botanical Garden. Minimalistic design with white washed wall of about thirty seaters filling up fast on a weekend. I still remembered the bad experiences we had from the staffs and do not want to mention now but hope they can improve soon. One fact that impress me is that the Australian owner who gave up bank job to fulfill his passion for coffee. (*thumbs up to good coffee)

Can you believe Sarnies is full at 4pm on a weekday? I being to understand the reasons why upon entering. Along Telok Ayer Street, this is one of the better coffee place catering to the office crowds. The barista could call out the names of the regulars and remembered their likings, super memory. I've read from the paper that they served the best bagels by Mama Bagels but was too full to try, next time perhaps.
